Economics Creative Competition
To promote the study of Economics and Business, the Economics Teachers’ Association of Western Australia held an Economics-themed creative competition in early Term 2. The creations were based on this year’s theme 'The rising cost of living'.
The Association would like to congratulate the following winners from each age division:
Years 5 and 6
- Winner - Sheerah Al Qudah from Fountain College
- Runner Up - Sulayman Alasadi from Fountain College
Year 9 and 10
- Winner - Elizabeth Webb from Presbyterian Ladies College
- Runner Up - Alana O'Connell from Presbyterian Ladies College
Year 11 and 12
- Winner - Georgia Blaine and Kaitlyn Lim from Lake Joondalup Baptist College

Prizes
A $200 first prize will be awarded for the best entry for each division. There was also a $50 runner-up prizes for each division. The judges’ decision were based on:
- demonstrated understanding of Economics concepts
- effective commentary or critique relating to a current economic issue
- effective communication of the current economic issue
- year level of the student(s) who created the creative piece
- originality
In the case where the winning entry has been created by a group of students, the $200 is shared on an equal basis between the group members.
